Ten Below Ice Cream is located in New York City in China Town. It is a Thai Ice Cream shop that is a great place to go to with friends or family. This shop has many different flavors like Key Lime Pie, s’mores Galore, Cookie Monster, and many more.
When their ready to make your ice cream, they call you to watch. Let’s say I ordered the key lime pie ice cream, the ice cream maker firsts starts of with a lime and a graham cracker and chops them up fine on a freezing cold plate. He then adds a liquid that then freezes and turns into the ice cream. He works with the liquid mixture until it is smooth and frozen. Then he rolls the ice cream into small rolls and places them into a cup. After he makes the ice cream, he brings you to the toppings bar and you can choose which ever toppings you want. They even toast your marshmallow.
It is really cool to watch and DELICIOUS to eat.
Thanksgiving is one of my families most important traditions. Every year, Thanksgiving gets more and more evolved. It is an all day event and my dad and I usually are the ones who cook dinner, but my siblings also pitch-in. But because our family is cuban, we put our own twist to the traditional feast. I am usually in charge of the Hors d’oeuvres, the bread, some of the sides, and the desserts.
Every year we try new recipes. This year we made a goat cheese and caramelized onion flat bread. Also, I made homemade brioche bread that my aunt taught me how to bake. Last year my dad deep fried the turkey.
Some recipes are still the same like the bagel chips and ricotta. All the desserts have been the same as well as the butternut squash soup, the rice and beans, and the chorizo stuffing.
We always have family over such as my aunt and my grandparents. Sometimes our family will help us cook the rice and beans or the stuffing.
Family is a big part of our Thanksgiving, especially because it’s my grandmothers birthday on the 25th of November. We always celebrate it on Thanksgiving and we either make cupcakes or a cake for her.
S’mores are one of the most famous, amazing, incredible desserts ever. But there are many different ways to make them: burnt, golden-brown, semi-cooked, or not cooked at all.
My favorite way to make my s’mores is golden-brown. The trick to a perfect golden-brown s’more is to cook it near the coals and away from the fire. Because the coals are warm, the heat will melt the inside of the marshmallow and turn it a nice golden-brown rather than burning it too quickly. You will know when they are ready when they swell to twice their size. The s’mores will then turn into a gooey mess😊😜😱.
I have been making s’mores for as long as I can remember. I would make them at bonfires at the beach, or cold night in vail. They are perfect for anytime of the year.
Sometimes I replace the graham crackers and chocolate with a warm chocolate chip cookies😝.
